What is Permanent Makeup/Cosmetic Tattoo
Permanent makeup or cosmetic tattoo is a form of tattoo technique that helps you to achieve the look of perfectly applied makeup (eyeliner, eyebrow, lipstick- without having to use any makeup product).
The permanent makeup of today is very different—we use organic pigments and modern, digital tools. And unlike the tattooed makeup of the ’80s and ’90s which used to produce harsh results which often would age to an unappealing color, permanent makeup of today actually looks like makeup and the results are much more natural looking.
Why lots of woman are choosing to get cosmetic tattoo?
Cosmetic Tattoo will save you time and frustration, giving you the freedom to enjoy many of your life’s activities without you having to worry about your appearance/makeup. Whether swimming, sleeping, perspiring, having a sauna, playing sport, washing your hair or eating, Cosmetic Tattoo will ensure that you look great 24 hours a day – it won’t wash off and can last for several years.
What is lip tattoo?
Lip tattoo is a form of semi-permanent makeup. It enhances the beauty of the natural lip color, improving the shape of the lips, giving definition and the illusion of fuller looking lips without going the lip filler route. Once healed, they look very natural.
You pick the shade you want, and then the during your lip tattoo appointment, I deposit the pigments on your lips giving you more defined, youthful, symmetrical, smudge proof, kissable tinted lips.
How long does it last?
Lip tattoo can last you anywhere from 2 to 5 years. It just depends on how fast your skin absorbs the pigment, and that differs from person to person. The colour will fade over time depending onyour lifestyle choices, skin tones and the pigment used. You may need a colourboost procedure every 1-3 years to keep the colour vibrant.
What is eyebrow tattoo?
Eyebrow Tattoo is a cosmetic tattoo which helps to create properly proportioned, fuller looking, symmetrical eyebrows that will frame your face, polish your look, define your eyes and instantly make you look younger.
They are WATERPROOF, SMUDGE PROOF, SWEAT PROOF (suitable for people with active lifestyle or who have oily skin and is a must for all ladies who live in Tropical North Queensland-Townsville).
It will save you a lot of time not having to draw them each morning and allows you to have beautiful eyebrows 24/7.
What is eyeliner tattoo?
Permanent eyeliner involves placing pigment on your lash line/eyelid to recreate the look of that eyeliner/ smokey eyeshadow/cat eye eyeliner you painstakingly apply every morning.
If you’re someone who can’t find an eyeliner doesn’t smudge, doesn’t want to deal with your liner running, have difficulty applying eyeliner, don’t have time to apply eyeliner or you’re sensitive to regular makeup, it could be a good option for you.
How long does permanent makeup last?
The longevity of colour in the skin cannot always be predicted. Some skins hold colour longer and stronger than others, while others fade leaving a light residue in the skin. Pigment may fade or change according to metabolism, lifestyle, skin type, medications, age, smoking, alcohol and sun exposure.
It also depends on what treatment you getting, but generally it will last you anywhere from one to five years.
So, not really permanent, but, hey, more permanent than the eyeliner that smudges off your face by the end of the day, right? And the reason it doesn’t last forever, like a regular tattoo, is because permanent makeup doesn’t reach the deeper layer of your skin—it’s more of a superficial tattoo.
That means you can either let your permanent makeup fade, or if you want to keep your brows, lips or eyeliner looking amazing long-term, you can go back every 12 months for a touch-up if needed.
Does it hurt to get permanent makeup?
Numbing cream which is applied beforehand which keeps the pain at a minimum. You shouldn’t feel anything more than a pinch here and there.
Most of my clients fall asleep during their cosmetic tattoo treatments and say” it’s much more comfortable and painfree than I had expected”.
I understand everyone has different pain threshold so please don’t be afraid to speak up if it starts to hurt and I will be more than happy to apply more numbing cream to make sure you are comfortable throughout your whole treatment. Your safety and comfort is my number 1 priority. ♥️

After lip tattoo some people may have slight swelling and bruising for upto 24 hours and the colour will look strong for the first few days.
Can I wear makeup straight after my cosmetic tattoo?
No you cannot wear makeup directly on the area for atleast 1 week.
How long should I stop exercising after getting cosmetic tattoo & why?
Avoid heavy sweating for 10days as sweat contains salt and can infect and prematurely fade your cosmetic tattoo.
Do you tattoo pregnant and woman who are breastfeeding?
No, I dont tattoo on ladies who are pregnant or breastfeeding because of following reasons:-
a. All Cosmetic Tattoo / Micropigmentation procedures carry some risk of infection because the skin is being broken. While all measures are taken to prevent any infection during the procedure is a very slight possibility you can get an infection if not cared for correctly after the procedure (for example if the client wears makeup or touches the healing work done). If this happens, then the baby could pick up a secondary infection.
b. During pregnancy, facial tissue can be stretched due to swelling and fluid retention. This means that makeup tattoos applied during pregnancy have the potential to change in shape once the baby has been born or no longer suit.
c. Facial skin may be more susceptible to pigment darkening (especially for those who get Melasma, commonly known as the “mask of pregnancy”) and so the trauma to the skin during the procedure may result in hyper-pigmentation in that area. So basically your skin would get pigmented and darker in some areas
d. On the other had in some women find their skin may also be resistant to accepting the tattoo pigment due to the increase in hormonal changes and fluctuations
e. There is also a slight possibility that some ladies can faint while being pregnant and this would not be ideal while tattooing.
f. Most cosmetic tattooists will use some form of anesthetic and numbing cream prior and during procedures. These will absorb into the skin and may enter into the blood stream.
There is not enough known about the tattoo pigments on the growing baby to ensure safety
g. It’s always best to be cautious while being pregnant and or breastfeeding and just wait
those extra few months. I want the best for you and your baby.
What is the age limit to get cosmetic tattoo?
All clients must be over the age of 18.
Is there many colours to choose from for lip/eyeliner/eyebrow tattoo?
I have a large range of colours to choose from and can also blend colours together to create a customised colour for you.I will look at your hair colour, skin colour and undertone to determine which colour will best suit you. If you are unsure on colours it is always better to start off with a lighter/more natural colour. Once you have become used to your new tattoo, at your touch up appointment I can darken up the colour if you like.
Are there any contraindications for getting cosmetic tattoo?
Pregnancy or breast-feeding in the first few months
-Heart disorder
-Auto immune diseases
-Type I diabetic
-Skin cancer
-Epilepsy
-Allergies
-Keloid and hypertrophic scarring
-Taking blood thinning medication
-Cold sore or fever blister without premedication
-Taking photosensitising drugs
-Any injectable or fillers in last 7 days
-Facial peels or waxing within 7 to 14 days

Can the tattoo be removed if I change my mind?
Cosmetic tattoo pigments are now designed to be semi permanent so they don’t last forever. Most people will find their tattoo will fade in 2-5 years. There are treatments that can be performed that can help to fade the pigment quicker, but if you end up wanting your tattoo completely removed I recommend non-laser saline removal technique. If you are unsure whether this is something you will want in 2-3 years time then I recommend you to go with something lighter and more natural looking to start with.
What are the factors that will affect my cosmetic tattoo?
There are many different factors that can affect cosmetic tattooing.
a. How long you spend in the sun. The sun fades the pigment faster so sun block may be used to prolong your cosmetic tattoo.
b. Oily skin tends to lose colour more quickly than other skin types
c. The regeneration of skin cells – the longer the regeneration takes the longer the pigment holds.
d. The choice of colour – light colours fade quicker than darker colours
e. Metabolism, skin products, deficiencies, lifestyles and age all take part in the healing process.
